Sara and Shelley established Ulti-Mates in 2015 by which time all five of the cousins were playing Ultimate. They were really impressed by the idea that a sport could be athletic and competitive as well as retaining the ideal of sportsmanship through Spirit of the Game. They noticed the personal growth the young players went through, learning to call fouls and negotiate with their opposition on the field. They saw that, in Ultimate, people play with all age groups and skill levels, in what other sport would this happen? They were hooked!
Sara and Shelley are both passionate about supporting Ultimate, especially at a youth level, and have both been heavily involved in managing school and youth teams as well as National teams.
Through Ulti-Mates they hope to be able to ensure that Ultimate products are available for our local players as well as looking to support teams with sponsorship in the future.
